Luís Pimentel, nado como Luís Benigno Vázquez Fernández en Lugo o 18 de decembro do 1895 e finado en Lugo o 13 de febreiro de 1958, foi un escritor galego.

Viviu case toda a súa vida na Praza Maior de Lugo. Estudou Medicina en Santiago de Compostela e, antes de dedicarse á poesía, fixo incursións na pintura e na música. Posteriormente realizou o doutoramento en Madrid, nunha época na que nesta cidade existía un grande ambiente cultural (Lorca, Dalí, Buñuel, Valle-Inclán e Baroja residían daquela na capital do Estado), para volver xa definitivamente ao seu Lugo natal e exercer alí como médico. No 1927 entra a formar parte da directiva do Círculo das Artes de Lugo e máis tarde consegue unha praza como médico de guarda no Hospital Municipal. Trabou amizade persoal con Ánxel Fole, quen o animaba constantemente a publicar os seus versos, e estableceu correspondencia con outros poetas como Dámaso Alonso ou Vicente Aleixandre.

Foi un destacado poeta relacionado coa xeración do 27. Na súa obra apréciase unha síntese de movementos vangardistas de dentro e de fóra da Galiza.

No 1924 publica os seus primeiros poemas na revista Ronsel. Son poemas intimistas e sinxelos, pero moitas veces irónicos e mesmo burlescos. Foi autor de Triscos (Pontevedra: Colección Benito Soto, 1950) e de Sombra do aire na herba (Vigo: Galaxia, 1959) en lingua galega. En castelán escribiu Barco sin luces (Lugo: Celta, 1960), obra póstuma que recolle poemas de 1927. En todos eles as súas propias vivencias son a temática fundamental, ateigadas dunha constante tenrura para todo o fráxil e delicado.

Na súa poesía observamos influencias do modernismo, de ismos vangardistas, do simbolismo francés e do existencialismo de posguerra. Canto á forma, destaca o verso libre, imaxes vangardistas, os paralelismos e as anáforas.
